Amo el Dólar Estadounidense/I Love the US Dollar (2025)

I Love the US Dollar” explores money as a symbol of power, identity and influence in a globalized world.

Using Ecuadorian sucres, erased after dollarization in 2000, the installation shows how economic systems shape what we value, who belongs to society, and how history is constructed. Currency here becomes more than a medium of exchange; it is a ghost of control, invisibly shaping our perception of the world.

The US dollar is more than currency: it is a tool of influence, apparent stability, and social hierarchy. The work invites viewers to face the invisible power of money and realize that money is never neutral — it carries ideology, history and authority.

The most powerful currency is only a symbol. Symbols may rule, but life and time go on.
