Б'Art Contemporary
(2006 – Present)
Founded in 2006 by Kyrgyz artist Shaarbek Amankul, Б'Art Contemporary stands as one of the pioneering art initiatives in Kyrgyzstan. Initially conceived as an artistic research project and a mobile art practice, Б'Art has since evolved into a dynamic platform fostering creative collaboration between artists and society. Its core mission is to harness contemporary art as a catalyst for critical discourse surrounding the environmental, social, economic, and cultural challenges faced by Kyrgyzstan and the broader Central Asian region. As a non-profit institution, Б'Art is steadfast in its commitment to offering alternative perspectives and practices that challenge traditional approaches to art. Through a series of innovative and socially engaged projects, Б'Art seeks to redefine contemporary art by addressing key societal issues and creating new forms of artistic expression. Its initiatives have sparked numerous groundbreaking activities, emphasizing the significance of contemporary art across various sectors of society. The works produced through Б'Art not only engage with pressing local issues but also capture global attention, contributing to an ongoing dialogue that connects Kyrgyz society with international artistic conversations.
