2007: Social Rehabilitation
This project was created to support adolescents living in orphanages and boarding schools as they navigate the challenges of growing up without parental care and prepare for active participation in modern society. The program focused on strengthening participants’ emotional resilience, moral development, and sense of self-worth through sustained creative engagement.
Weekly art workshops invited children from local institutions to explore and develop their creative abilities while building confidence, trust in their future, and a stronger sense of personal agency. Guided by professional local artists, participants worked across multiple media, including ceramics, painting, sculpture, video, photography, and performance, allowing each child to discover new ways of expressing their experiences and aspirations.
The project culminated in a public exhibition featuring visual and performing works by the young artists. The exhibition was centered on the symbol of the Blue Bird, a figure from Kyrgyz childhood stories representing happiness, hope, and the possibility of a brighter future.
